No follow buttons. No friend requests. Geography is the social graph — everything you see comes from real, verified neighbors and the community service providers in your area, within a radius that adapts to how dense your neighborhood is.
The problem
The people physically closest to you are the ones most able to help you — and the ones you're least likely to know. Gerany turns that around: a feed of what's actually nearby, trust that's earned in the open, and deals that don't require crossed fingers.
Eight things, built to work together — not eight separate apps bolted on.
Posts are geo-tagged and shown to people close by, labeled with hashtags in your own language and always tagged with how far away it happened. The radius adapts: wide where the community is new, tight where it's dense.
1:1 and group chats with photos, video, and voice notes, no phone numbers ever exchanged — private and accountable. Inside any conversation, step into an end-to-end-encrypted Private space, readable by the two of you and no one else, not even Gerany.
Audio and video, 1:1 or in groups — up to 4 people for everyone, up to 16 with Gerany+ — straight from any chat. Every call is encrypted — 1:1 device-to-device, group in transit — and Gerany's servers never store call content.
Verification badges — phone, email, a live-selfie-confirmed photo — unlock participation in stages. Privacy is structural: coarse distances only, and location jitter on every stored point.
Privacy is free for every neighbor, and much of it can't be switched off. A few of the protections we built:
A neighbor never sees your phone number — it is structurally excluded from everything other neighbors can see.
Stored points carry a small random offset, others see only a rounded distance, and you can show "nearby" or keep yourself out of search.
Messages, calls, circle invites, your profile, your posts and your comments each have one simple choice: everyone, people you've interacted with, your circles, or no one.
Screenshots and screen recording are blocked on Android, blacked out and flagged on iPhone, and watermarked on the web. Calls are never recorded or stored.
Connect photos and videos live on a non-public store and are read only through an authorized check on every request; face checks run on your device and verification images are deleted after the decision.
A business never sees your phone number, and by default not your name either. Blocking a business works exactly like blocking a neighbor.
The Gerany app is translated into 27 languages on the web, iPhone, iPad and Android. Our store listings reach further — a Gerany storefront is available in all 39 languages the App Store supports and all 80 languages Google Play supports — and the user agreement is published in 27 languages. Store listings are localized metadata: a storefront can show Gerany in a language the app itself does not speak yet.
The core neighborhood experience is free. Gerany+ is for neighbors who want more reach, bigger group video, and the full provider dashboard.
The widest feed reach — extendable past your local area — group video up to 16 without a time limit, unlimited anonymous posts, a permanent directory boost, and the full provider analytics dashboard.
Marketplace transactions carry a simple flat fee, paid by the buyer on top of the provider's price — deliberately the lowest in its category, because the neighbor was already going to find you.

1 · Paste a calendar link
A public ICS link from Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook or most booking tools. Every upcoming date becomes an experience neighbors can find and book, re-synced every hour.
2 · Ask your AI assistant
The free Gerany MCP server signs in through the browser — no key to copy — and gives Claude, Cursor or any MCP client typed tools to run and update the whole storefront, with ready-made prompts for the calendar sync, the website section, the door screen and the box office.
3 · Use the API
Pricing and capacity, barcodes for seats you sold elsewhere, validate and admit at the door, a live attendee list — from your own system.
Opening neighborhood by neighborhood, not city-wide — so the first feed you open already has a full week of things to do.
